How do I complete onboarding?

After creating your account, VHT guides you through a structured onboarding flow to build your initial health profile. You will be asked about:

How does ECHNA voice work?

ECHNA supports voice conversations on the iOS app. Tap and hold the microphone button to speak your question — ECHNA processes your speech and responds with synthesized voice audio, so you can have a natural back-and-forth conversation without typing.

The voice session keeps your screen active during the conversation so it does not lock mid-session. You can end the voice session at any time by tapping the on-screen button.

Is my health data private and secure?

Yes. VHT is built with HIPAA-aligned security from the ground up:

• All data is encrypted at rest and in transit
• Row-level security ensures you can only ever access your own data
• No data is ever sold to third parties or used for advertising

Is ECHNA a replacement for my doctor?

Accepted Answer

No. ECHNA is an informational AI assistant designed for educational and health navigation purposes only. She helps you understand your data, learn about your conditions and medications, and prepare for conversations with your care team — but she does not provide medical diagnoses, prescribe treatments, or replace professional medical advice.

Always consult a licensed healthcare provider for any medical decision. In a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.

Question 7

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Accepted Answer

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete My Account. On the web: vht.ai/account-deletion or email echna@vht.ai from your account email.

Deletion is permanent (not a freeze). Live account access and associated health data are typically removed immediately. We complete verified requests within 30 days.

A limited backup may be kept only for security, fraud prevention, or to finish deletion, or when the law requires it. Ask us to destroy that backup by emailing echna@vht.ai. Full details: vht.ai/privacy (Data Retention).

How does Apple HealthKit integration work?

Accepted Answer

VHT syncs with Apple Health to import your health data — including steps, heart rate, sleep stages, HRV, blood oxygen, blood pressure, calories, workouts, and more than 150 other data types — and unifies them into your Health Index and Digital Twin.

Sync is fully automatic once connected. Your first sync pulls up to 180 days of historical data. After that, background delivery keeps your profile up to date as new readings arrive from your iPhone or Apple Watch.

Key details:
• You control exactly which data types to share during the permission prompt
• You can review everything that has been synced in Settings → Health Data
• You can pause, resume, or disconnect sync at any time
• Disconnecting stops all future syncs and clears the sync state from your device
• You can manually trigger a deep-history sync (up to 5 years) from the Health Data settings

Does VHT write anything back to Apple Health?

Accepted Answer

VHT is strictly read-only with respect to Apple Health.

When your iPhone prompts you to grant HealthKit permissions, VHT only requests read access. Write (share) permission is never requested and is explicitly set to nil in our iOS code — iOS will never allow VHT to create or modify any record in your Apple Health database.

Your Apple Health data is the authoritative source. VHT reads it, enriches it with clinical context and AI insights, and stores a secure copy in your VHT health record. Nothing ever flows back from VHT into Apple Health.

Question 10

How do I sign in with Apple on iOS?

Accepted Answer

On the iOS app, tap "Sign in with Apple" on the sign-in screen. This triggers the native iOS Face ID / Touch ID authentication sheet — no password required and your Apple ID email can be hidden.

Your Apple ID token is exchanged directly with VHT's secure backend. We never see your Apple ID password. If you hide your Apple email, Apple provides a private relay address that VHT uses to send any account-related emails.

Apple Sign-In is also available on the web via standard OAuth redirect.

What is the Health Index?

The Health Index is a composite score from 0–100 that reflects your overall health across six pillars:

1. Lifestyle — activity, sleep, nutrition, stress, habits
2. Biometrics — vitals such as heart rate, blood pressure, BMI, HRV, and body composition

4. Genetics — hereditary risk factors and family history

What is the Digital Twin?

The Digital Twin matures over time as you add more data. A "data maturity" indicator in My Hub shows how complete your profile is across seven health domains: personal information and the six Health Index pillars.

Tapping any day opens a detail popup showing everything logged or synced for that date. You can also tap "Log for this day" to open Quick Log pre-filled with the selected date, making it easy to backfill data you forgot to log at the time.

How do I share my health data with my doctor?

VHT provides a Digital ID card that summarizes your key health information in a shareable format. You can access it from the My Hub screen.

For more detailed sharing, you can ask ECHNA to summarize any aspect of your health — conditions, medications, recent lab trends, vitals history — and share the ECHNA response with your provider directly.

Important: Most Bluetooth health devices sold on Amazon, AliExpress, and Temu — smart rings, fitness watches, blood pressure cuffs, smart scales, pulse oximeters, thermometers, and chest straps — are manufactured by Shenzhen-based ODMs (original design manufacturers) and resold under dozens of different brand names. BOZLUN, MAYNOS, AIWASI, Donerton, SLOTHCLOUD, ENGERWALL, FITINDEX, LAZLE, MMIZOO, EMAY, Zacurate, CONTEC, iProven, and many others. These devices almost always come with a companion app that the manufacturer tells you to install.

We strongly recommend that you DO NOT use these third-party companion apps for your health data. Here is why:

━━━ SECURITY RISKS — ACROSS ALL DEVICE TYPES ━━━

• No HIPAA compliance — White-label companion apps are not designed for health data privacy regulations. Whether it's a ring app storing your sleep data, a BP cuff app storing your blood pressure history, or a scale app storing your weight and body composition, these apps may keep your health data on unencrypted servers in jurisdictions with weak or non-existent data protection laws.

• No security audit — These apps are built by small firmware teams that prioritize cost over security. They rarely undergo independent security testing or code audits. The same factory that makes the hardware ships a companion app as an afterthought — the app exists so the product page can say "Includes free app."

• Data sharing unknown — Many white-label apps request broad permissions (contacts, location, photos, microphone) that have nothing to do with your BP readings or step count. Their privacy policies — if they exist at all — are often vague, machine-translated, or link to dead pages.

• Server locations unclear — Your health data may be stored on servers in countries with no equivalent to HIPAA or GDPR. You may have no legal right to request deletion, no way to verify your data was actually deleted, and no recourse if it is breached.

• Account creation required — Many white-label apps force you to create an account with an email or phone number just to use the device. This ties your health data to a permanent identity on servers you do not control.

• Ring apps — often request location and contacts. Store sleep, HR, and activity data indefinitely.
• BP cuff apps — your blood pressure history is a direct medical record. Many apps store it unencrypted.

Because CGMs use cloud sync, they work on both the iOS app and the web app once you link your account in Settings → Health Sync → Glucose. New readings pull automatically every 5 minutes while the app is open and on every app resume. Quick Log → Blood Glucose shows a "CGM Connected" badge and overlays your recent CGM history alongside manual entries.

We display time-in-range (TIR), GMI, trend arrows, and variability — and ECHNA can answer questions about your glucose trends.

Which smart watches can I pair with VHT?

Accepted Answer

VHT can read live heart rate from any smart watch with Bluetooth — no companion app needed. We support:

• Any smart watch that advertises as "Smart Watch", "Fitness Watch", or "Sport Watch"
• Most Bluetooth-enabled budget smart watches sold on Amazon
• Watches that use the standard Bluetooth heart rate profile

VHT reads your live heart rate and stores it in your health record. Full watch data (steps, sleep, workouts) is not yet available for most watch models — we recommend Apple Watch via Apple HealthKit for full watch integration.

Apple Watch users: sync through Apple HealthKit (Settings → Health Sync → Health tab). This gives you steps, sleep, heart rate, workouts, and 150+ other data types — far more than direct BLE can provide.

Question 27

How does Bluetooth device sync work?

Accepted Answer

All Bluetooth devices sync the same way through the VHT iOS app:

• Open Settings → Health Sync → Devices and tap "Scan for Devices"
• When your device appears, tap "Pair" (rings) or "Connect" (BP monitors, scales, etc.)
• VHT auto-detects your device and selects the correct connection method
• For rings: your historical data syncs automatically. Subsequent syncs happen when you open the app or return to it from the background
• For BP monitors, scales, oximeters, and thermometers: your latest reading syncs immediately on connection
• Each device has its own sync state — you can see when it last synced directly from the device row
• You can pause auto-sync per device, sync manually, or unpair at any time
• Unpairing removes the connection; your synced data stays in your health record

If a device has trouble connecting, you can tap "Request support" on its row and our team reviews it.

Question 28

Can I use these devices without an iPhone?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the device:

• Smart rings, smart watches, BP monitors, scales, oximeters, thermometers, and HR monitors — iOS only. These connect directly over Bluetooth and require the VHT iOS app.
• CGMs (FreeStyle Libre, Dexcom, Nightscout) — any platform. They sync through the cloud, so you can view glucose data on iPhone, web, PWA on Android, or desktop.
• Apple HealthKit — iOS only (this is an Apple platform restriction).

Apple HealthKit sync and Bluetooth device pairing are iPhone-only. CGM integrations (FreeStyle Libre, Dexcom, Nightscout) work on every platform because they sync via cloud APIs.
